PAGHILOM CAFE, STA. CRUZ, LAGUNA

Among all the cafés I have visited in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Paghilom Café is probably one of the most memorable for me emotionally. During one of the lowest points in my life, this café became my go-to place whenever I needed time to breathe, think, and slowly heal. Somehow, every visit reminded me that healing is never linear — there are good days, bad days, and moments where you simply need a quiet place to pause.

The café itself has a calm and comforting atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. Even though the place does not offer WiFi, it still became special because it encouraged real conversations, reflection, and genuine bonding moments with friends. Instead of scrolling through phones, people actually spend time talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company.

One thing I also enjoyed about Paghilom Café is that they have board games available for customers. It made the café feel more interactive and fun, especially during hangouts with friends. Simple moments like playing games while waiting for food somehow became memorable experiences.

Another convenient thing about the café is that it has parking spaces, making visits easier for customers bringing vehicles. The ambiance also feels peaceful and cozy, especially during slower afternoons or evenings.

My personal favorite from their menu is the Cookies and Cream Frappe, which I would honestly rate a perfect 10/10. The drink is creamy, flavorful, and satisfying without being too overwhelming. It quickly became my comfort drink whenever I visited the café.

Aside from drinks, their nachos and pastries are also really good. They pair perfectly with frappes and are great for sharing with friends during long conversations. According to some of my friends who enjoy coffee more than I do, their coffee drinks are also worth trying and taste really good.

Paghilom Café became more than just a coffee shop to me. It became one of those places connected to healing, self-reflection, and meaningful memories. Sometimes, the right café is not just about aesthetics or drinks — sometimes, it becomes a safe space during difficult moments in life.
